Warwick next to nearby districts.
These comparisons use Rhode Island’s official per-student spending, which counts every dollar a district spends from all sources and divides by the average number of students enrolled that year. Spending more isn’t automatically a problem, but the difference should be explainable line by line, and this is where to start.

Where the difference comes from
Per student, by what the money is for or what it buys. The last column is what the gap adds up to across Warwick’s enrollment that year.
Teachers and students
Teachers counted by RIDE for its report card, and students per teacher in 2024-25.
Every figure here comes from a public record: the district’s filings with the Rhode Island Department of Education, its general ledger and monthly reports to the School Committee, the city’s audited financial statements, and the budget documents the committee votes on. Figures are as reported and are not adjusted for inflation. If you find a mistake, email dan@herseyforwarwick.com and I’ll correct it and note the correction. Sources and method →
